Mababait sila at mapagmahal. Naku! Walang madadatnang pagkain sina Crispin at Basilio.                 Sandali… may tumatawag sa akin. Si Basilio iyon! Diyos ko po! Bakit puno ng sugat ang panganay ko? Si Crispin? Nasaan s

In the Eyes of a Mere Student

When I first stepped in this institution, I immediately noticed her.  Who wouldn’t, anyway? There she was, standing in front of all of us, smiling and leading us in reciting the Panatang Makabayan. She looked like she can vanquish anyone just by her sweet smile. It made me want to know more about her. Since then, I’ve watched her from afar. As the days had gone, I came to know a few more things about her. She was a grade 10 Special Science Class student and elected Supreme Student Government President for the school year 2016-2017. Apart from this, I’ve also learned that she was the top student of her class and that she was an SSG Officer since her 7 th grade. I was awed and felt honoured for I have met such a promising lady. But these things that I’ve learned made me wonder how she managed to balance her activities. I heard that being in the SSC meant that a lot of school works is piled in front of you and of course, leading a group of more or less 2000 students is not an ea

Almost-Extinct Discipline among Students

Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. It is one of the fundamentals of success. Without discipline, dreams would never be achieved. However, many seem to lack this virtue, especially students. A simple manifestation of proper discipline is standing straight on your line, actively participating in the flag raising, staying quiet and listening attentively when the principal is making some announcements during the Monday Convocation. It’s quite easy, right? But it seems like this is too hard for the students. During Mondays, you can see students who are not properly staying and standing on their lines. Many are sitting on the bleachers. And when the leaders start to sing, they start to talk to each other too. Moreover, there are also others who would not even participate in the program. Instead, they choose stay on the stores outside the school. It’s not only that. Whenever there are programs, these unruly students give the Supreme Student Government Offi

Vanguards of Truth

Freedom of information is one of the vital constituents of good governance. It helps uphold a more resilient community and it is a right to every citizen of a democratic nation like the Philippines. Through Campus Journalism, can we strengthen this freedom of information and expression? The Philippine media has long played an essential role in voicing out the concerns of the people. Take for example the         impeachment of the corrupt Joseph Estrada and the overthrowing of the dictator Ferdinand Marcos. Both wouldn’t be possible without the media’s help. However, as time passes by, media men are being threatened to express their opinions. This menace is not only happening in the national media but also in school publications. Student-writers are afraid to express their thoughts on school issues for they have a mind-set that if they wrote something that offends someone, especially a member of the staff, their grades or academic stand will be affected. Moreover, as youn

BIRO

Impeccable Foundation

Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world Success is likened into a locked room where being educated is the only key to open it. But how can we get this key if there were too many challenges along the way? What will be our weapon against these hurdles? Our tongue is like a bullet that hits right through the deepest part of our body. English language is a strong combat to ignorance. It is like food – taste it and be satisfied. The 21 st century is an age of advancement. Modernization is a companion of our era. Technology is a powerful tool for man. With our fast growing society, we must hurry up and English language had been a ride through this journey. However, hurrying up is not that easy. This breakthrough is technology is also accompanied by many challenges. In schools, many students lack self-discipline. Institutions deal with naughty and rude youngsters every day. Some cheat. Some cut classes. Some disrespect the other students
